Cathy leads a wide range of masterplanning, public realm, site and contextual analysis, stakeholder engagement and heritage assessments, ensuring that excellent urban design principles are carried through the design process. She works closely with clients, local planning authorities, and consultants. Cathy is a champion of placemaking within the practice and leads research on health and wellbeing. She also specialises in heritage and conservation and has completed the RIBA conservation course. Key projects include Aykley Heads masterplan in Durham; Crichton Estate framework for listed buildings in a conservation area in Dumfries; East Pilgrim Street mixed use masterplan in Newcastle; Stoke on Trent International HS2 masterplan; Hartlepool regeneration masterplan; and Trinity Yard public realm study for Northumbria University. Cathy supported Northern Architecture’s Young Urbanists programme and Planning Aid as a volunteer.
