Great Haddon: A New District Centre

Key Proposals

The new community of 5,300 dwellings, with its own district centre and secondary school, is designed to deliver an economically and socially sustainable solution to meet much of Peterborough’s medium term housing needs. DLA established a framework plan for the district centre which identifies scope for flexibility in terms of commercial and retail uses, alongside objectives for access and public realm.

Outcomes

The design framework informed the outline application illustrating how the mixed use centre could be structured and managed.

“Our design for the Great Haddon district centre provided the right level of confidence allowing the planning authority to grant outline planning permission for this proposal, as part of the wider scheme.” Heather Pugh, Partner.
