Turley

Good design lifts the spirit. It is essential to the creation of sustainable, successful places of lasting worth. We work hard to create designs that not only look good but also work well for everyone.

Our mission

The realisation of well-designed development is a critical part of our approach to planning. It has been since the company’s founding over 30 years ago.

We never stand still, continually refining and enhancing how we work, drawing in skills and experience and investing in our people, to provide a better service to our clients.

We challenge ourselves to be nothing short of the best masterplanning team in the country, working with clients and communities to help realise value and deliver meaningful change; places we are proud of.

Our Team

We’ve carefully assembled a team of talented individuals; urban designers drawn from a range of backgrounds including architecture, landscape, planning, engineering and graphics. As well as being great people to deal with we all have a key feature in common – a passion for making great places.

We enjoy collaborating across disciplines and our blend of experience is key to enabling this way of working. Our understanding and enthusiasm allow us to communicate easily, both within Turley and beyond, engaging others to collectively generate stronger ideas and more inspiring places.

Our approach

Our UK-wide office network affords us a national reach and also allows us to capture local knowledge. We start every project by seeking to better understand the site and its setting. We analyse local characteristics and conditions to help inform our thinking and shape development that sits comfortably in its context.

Combining this thorough approach with a focus on quality and a culture of creativity allows us to generate unique designs that fully capture the opportunities inherent in each new development. In this way we achieve results for our clients; minimising risk and maximising impact.

Our Services

The depth of knowledge and breadth of experience across our team means we are able to work effectively in a range of sectors and locations:

Residential

From the largest urban extensions and new settlements through to small infill sites, we handle greenfield expansion in a sensitive manner and use brownfield opportunities to affect wider change

Retail and town centres

Our knowledge of the retail sector combined with an ability to handle the complexities of mixed-use development mean our designers can help to integrate new development, strengthening centres and driving footfall

Education, Health and Business Space

Understanding the needs of occupiers and the commercial imperatives of our clients allows us to shape high quality and deliverable learning, healing and working environments

Our work

At Turley we create clear and attractive material, targeted toward each stage of the planning process. Our work helps our clients secure permission and realise value, moving projects through to implementation. We regularly provide the following:

  • urban design strategies
  • character studies and LVIA
  • masterplans & development frameworks
  • design statements, guidance and codes
  • regeneration and enhancement schemes
  • strong hand drawn, CGI and document graphics

By combining creativity with our technical know-how we generate designs that are viable, imaginative and compelling. Thinking made visual.
