Planit Intelligent Environments are Urban Designers, Landscape Architects and Digital Artists, operating from two studios in Manchester and London.

We are a collective that nurtures creative talent. Our approach begins with the place; its character and physicality - consequently our ideas are sensitive and focussed around the successful integration of development within the environment.

We operate at all scales - from regional or town strategies; urban extensions and quarters; city squares, to parks, gardens and small-scale interventions in the landscape. On this basis, we approach our projects with a deeper understanding of how they are delivered – we are makers of places.

Our projects reflect the collective ethos that our proposals, physical or non-physical, should have a positive impact on our lives, encouraging sustainable patterns of behaviour, healthy life-styles and harmonious living.

We always consider time-scale. Places change gradually over time, but meaningful interventions can play a part in changing peoples perceptions, whether through the consideration of meanwhile uses, or the delivery of small-scale ‘impact’ projects.

Our favourite projects are often the most challenging for our clients. Many are focussed around the realisation of value around identified or allocated sites, but this will not resolve the issues associated with housing need, economic diversification and geographical imbalances. To tackle these issues, we are able to apply our skills to bring forward more problematic sites - those which require creative solutions, looking beyond planning, to deliver positive physical change and ensure long term stewardship.
