Amec Foster Wheeler

The Amec Foster Wheeler urban design team is a group of 20 architects, landscape architects and masterplanners within our 80 strong UK Planning and Design team that also includes town planners, transport planners and graphic designers.  We are part of the wider AMEC Environment and Infrastructure business, where we work alongside a full range of in-house environmental and engineering experts.  This set-up enables us to bring a cost-effective design-led, inter-disciplinary approach to all our projects, ensuring the development of well informed, deliverable and viable solutions.

Our experience spans across a range of sectors including residential and commercial property, education, sports, leisure and infrastructure.  Whether we are designing for greenfield or brownfield sites, public or private sector clients, the common objective in our design is the creation of quality places.

Our urban design service encompasses the entire lifecycle of a project from strategic advice and feasibility to detailed design and implementation.  By way of illustration of the strength and depth of our expertise, in our current portfolio we are undertaking work in support of land promotion on 5 sites for The Crown Estate, providing advice to secure the delivery of quality urban design in the development of over 20,000 homes on surplus Ministry of Defence land for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and overseeing the detailed design and construction of buildings and spaces as part of the implementation of an employment sites regeneration masterplan for the Isle of Anglesey County Council.
